BIO
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Juliane Bodini discovered her love for the performing arts at just 11 years old, when she began taking acting classes at school.
After high school, Juliane followed her dream and joined CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, one of South America’s renowned performing arts schools. There, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts.
Juliane recently made her Canadian television debut as a Weather Anchor with Global News, working across Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon. She also graduated from the Radio and Television program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology), bringing together her passion for broadcasting and storytelling.
In 2022, Juliane moved to Canada and began a new chapter in her career, she made her Canadian stage debut in 2023 as Ilona in She Loves Me. That same year, she was also part of Miscasts with Edmonton Musical Theatre at the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival.
Before moving to Canada, Juliane built a successful career in Brazilian theatre, musical theatre, film and television. Her professional journey began after graduating from CAL, when she joined the theatre company OmondÉ. She performed in several productions, including As Conchanbranças de Quaderna, by renowned Brazilian playwright Ariano Suassuna. In 2012, she was nominated for a FITA Award for Os Mamutes.
In 2013, her career took her to Colombia, where she performed in Maravilloso at the Iberoamerican Theatre Festival.
In Brazil, Juliane appeared in major musicals including Cássia Eller - O Musical, which toured 27 cities across Brazil, Cazuza - Pro Dia Nascer Feliz, Rock in Rio - O Musical, and Company. For Cássia Eller, she was nominated for the Bibi Ferreira Award.
In 2017, Juliane produced and starred in Dancer in the Dark, playing the role originally portrayed by Björk. The production received 20 award nominations, including SHELL, Cesgranrio, APTR, and Botequim Cultural, and Juliane won Best Actress in a Musical.
Her work in film and television in Brazil includes Netflix’s Girls From Ipanema (Coisa Mais Linda) and the Prime Video film And They Say I’m the Crazy One (Depois a Louca Sou Eu). She also appeared in the Brazilian soap operas A Regra do Jogo and Babilônia, as well as the popular Sunday show Domingão do Faustão.
Today, Juliane continues to combine her love of acting, broadcasting and storytelling as she builds her career in Canada.
